I remember gettin' the OT stories at Sunday school, too. But that was after suffering thru parochial catechism. I had read all of Edgar Cayce and some of Madame Blavatsky by 20, but I was reading psychology texts and had a realy good World Philosphy & Religion class my senior year. I was busy with art & music, too tho. Not like I was booknerd.

Stan Lee @ Marvel would probably've produced a rockin' rendition, except Revelations would probably look illegal in more than one way Shocked .

the majority of my church reads the NIV. ive heard some people around here say its not completely accurate. does it make much difference or are the ideas still there? i saw the site where some lines between the KJV and NIV have completely diff meanings.. o and how do you kno the KJV is completely accurate. everyone keeps comparing other versions to that one.

No, the KJV is not perfectly accurate either, and a lot of its language is beautifully poetic, but obscure. It has gone through some revisions since being let down from heaven on silver string in 1611.

On the plus side, it contains 86 occurances of the word "(word removed)." That'll preach.

The NIV is more a paraphrase than a literal translation. In some circumstances it may make a difference. It's good to use a couple of versions and compare 'em.
