we were talking about that yesterday at church. the teacher at our jr. high class was asking us why we thought people had racial problems. there were some hispanics that started a fight with some african americans at this school, when an african american was kept in the office even though he wasn't in the fight he said that it was because he was black. our teacher said that if all men and wemon are created equal in the image of god, why are we so prejudice against other people because they are simply different than us. a boy in the class said that it might be because they were trying to prove they were better or were superior to the other race. i think that as humans we have a tendency to think we wre right or have the truth. racicist prejudism or even religeous prejudism goes back for ages, and it could simply be a cause of jealosy or insucurity. There are a million reasons that some one is prejudice. The Roman Catholics had crusades against the muslems, why? what was the cause of their desire to take the holy land? Why did the Americans capture africans and make them their slaves? why did the spainerds capture the indians and make them their slaves? Christians arn't the only people that have issues with prejudism, and just because one person does it, you can't blame it on the whole group or nation or whatever it was. if i saw a witch i would pray that god would put someone in her life that would show the truth, that she would see the light. i don't think that christianity is right, i know it is. You can study religeon till your head hurts, and you can visit all the burial sights of all those "gods". But there will be a person or statue in every single grave, every single grave except the one where jesus was buried. his tomb is empty, which should be proof that he is alive. it is the only religion that makes sence, no that isn't true. Christianity isn't a religion, it's a relationship. I feer i am rambaling now and have gotten why of topic. If i saw a black man in the street i would thank god that not everyone had the same skin color. everyone is different, no two people can look alike. i need to go now. Cheereo. _________________ jesus rocks! |

My kids are racist.
The find it strange when they see a black person because a black person seems so different to them than what they see in every day life. We live in a mainly white country and I couldn't tell you where the nearest black person lives. We have oriental neighbours somewhere in the same estate and I've seen a little Asian boy at the kids' after-school club, but they seldom see black people therefore they approach with caution.
I don't think it's prejudiced evil racism from my kids - it's just that they are cautious of that with which they are unfamiliar. Not sure how to overcome this, to be honest!
