I still sin adultery. I have prayed for a long time and even posted my problem in this forum some years ago. I notice that I have improved but yet still fall into the same temptation. I used to have an affair with a lady and we met several times a week. When I prayed etc. we eventually kind of stopped. After almost a year since we last met this Saturday we met and sinned. I really feel down. After all the efforts I am demoralised. Even when the event was approaching I was praying but yet it still happened. Please help me advise me.

Muubi, I will be in prayer for you today.

First, search deep within your heart. I don't know where this meeting took place, and whether or not the meeting was by chance. If it was a planned meeting, obviously I would avoid any such meetings in the future.

Place this sin on the cross and leave it there. God has forgiven the sin. Forgive yourself, and as Christ would instruct... "Go and sin no more".
Walk in the Spirit my friend and let Him lead you from this day forward. Might I suggest carrying around a pocket Bible and when temptation rears it's ugly head, instead of giving into it, open your Bible to the Gospel of John. I find this to be an effective method for dealing with temptation.

If you would like to discuss this further, you can send me a personal message.

God bless,

Mubii

Greetings.

Believe I discussed this with you before.

You were strengthened when you began to pray and seek spiritual strength to overcome your urge to commit adultery. But unfortunately, you succumbed to the flesh yet again. Well, what can I say but that you continue to seek God in prayers to strengthen you yet again. PRAY UNCEASINGLY and PRAY when the urge to commit it arises within you. This is the spiritual side to overcome.

But there is the other side where you are required to walk it with your strength in resisting the urge. Many Christians succumbed to sin because they could not find the strength (physical) to resist. Actually this physical strength is the spiritual faith and trust in God to strengthen you; they are intertwinged together.

What you could do is never to allow your thought to be sinful whenever you are with this lady or with someone whom your eyes see as sexy, beautiful....etc, whatever adjectives you could define and allow your thought to be filled with "filth" of bedding her.

Rather my simple advice to you is that you pick up the strength to walk away from the one who would lead you to sin.

Find that physical strength to walk away with the spiritual obedience to God in love through His Word that adultery is a sin which He hates and that you are not going to live to regret later if you go against Him.

Love God. Obey His Commandments. Abide in Him through His Word learnt........You will know how to pick up that strength to walk away from your undesirable urge.

God bless.
