True enough Ariel.

On a different note, to all of my fellow countrymen and women, have a Blessed Thanksgiving Holiday. How blessed we all are, day in and day out.

Sometimes, in our busy lives we overlook the "little things" that truly amount to huge blessings. These, just the basic necessities that so many in third world countries do not have, we far too often take for granted.

Praise and thanks be to our Father in Heaven for the "little things".

God bless you one and all,

PostPosted: Wed Nov 24, 2004 6:14 pm    Post subject: God's Law Reply with quote

We have a struggle within ourselves don't we. I can see passover's pain on the subject. So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God's law; but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members. What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God--through Jesus Christ our Lord!
So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God's law, but in the sinful nature a slave to the law of sin.

You are just pointing back to something that is killing us. Jesus said, "Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls."

Law tells us we are dead in our transgressions, but Jesus is life.

We have a better hope to point people to Christ which is life, then pointing them back to the law which only brings death to those who try to follow it.

Jesus makes the law simple, to love God with all our hearts and to love others as ourselves. In it there is only a light burden for love has fulfilled the law. We would not know how to love without Jesus.

God no longer calls us servants, bound by the law, but friends for we have moved into a relationship of love with God through Jesus Christ.

Jesus did not love those who knew it all, and felt they themselves where in the meat of God words, for it was in their own heart they believed that.

He loved those who didn't put their trust in the law, but in him. For those higher teachers said this about Jesus, 'Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and "sinners."

As the scripture says, The former regulation is set aside because it was weak and useless (for the law made nothing perfect), and a better hope is introduced, by which we draw near to God.

If you don't believe me that is fine, but believe in the scripture in the last paragraph.
