the bible is the story of the sublime written by the profane. in describing the divine the human language is sorely insufficient! the biblical story was written by God's inspiration for the creation by the creation. it use creation language so the creation would understand it.

example: paul says speaking in tongues (in a language not understood by the hearer) is not a gift unless an interpreter is a part of the gift.

we cannot dwell on the "words" of the Bible more than we do on God's intent for the Bible. for me, the Bible is A story of the divine not stories. thus we must follow the story thread from beginning to end to, just perhaps, understand how God uses THE story to reveal God's self.
