Can we not trace the “blood of Jesus” in the Old Testament?
• Jesus is called the “Lamb of God.”
• Abel, by divine revelation, offered a “lamb,” and he was justified before God.
• In the first 5 books of the Bible, we read how God required the “offering of blood of lambs…”
• Does not “blood” symbolize DEATH?
• How important is DEATH to God that He required the “offering of blood?” I read the “need for DEATH” in the following:
Heb 9:16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. |

Of coarse you can trace Jesus through prophesy of the "Old Testament". Well obviously Jesus wasnt created yet in the "Old Testament", so people sacrificed lambs for there sins. After Jesus died on the cross there was no need anymore for animal sacrifices. Blood i think symbolizes death of one's old sins and moving on in life by God forgiving you. Death meaning the old ways have passed on, now u can start new ways.(NOT PHYSICAL DEATH). |

|

The Testament of salvation was made in the Old Testament by Father God. It is written, for a Testament to be fulfilled, it requires the death of the Testator:
* Heb 9:16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.
Father God was the Testator. He could not have fulfilled His Testament because He is a Spirit. Therefore, the fulfillment of the Testament was prefigured by the "offering of blood of lambs and other animals."
Old Testament saints were saved by FAITH based on this plan of God:
* Heb 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
The evidence of real fulfillment of the Testament was not seen, but by FAITH they were saved!
* Heb 11:13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them...
Therefore who is Jesus Christ dying on the Cross?
* 1Tim 3:16 (KJV) And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit... |
