Shalom,
Scripture references are from,
The SET (Stone Edition Tanach) or the CJB (Complete Jewish Bible) for the OT
and the PNT (Power New Testament) for the NT unless otherwise specified.
1 Pet 4:15. For none of you must suffer as a murderer or a thief or evildoer or as a spy: 16. but if as a Christian, he must not be ashamed, but he must glorify God in this name. 17. Because the time to begin the judgment of the house of God is at hand: and if with us first, what is the end of those who are disobedient to the Good News of God?
18. And “If the righteous is scarcely saved,
how will the godless and sinner appear?” (Pr 11:31)
19. So also those who suffer according to the will of God must entrust their lives to the faithful Creator while doing good.
"You may be the only Bible some people every read!"
I haven't a clue as to who said this or something like this but it really is so true! More people will know you for the appearance that you give rather than for the real you. Take any given day and consider how many people simply "see" you. Then consider how many acquaintances you have during that day; how many co-workers whose path you cross and then how many "friends" or at least people who know you fairly well that you see during that day. Obviously the numbers diminish with each group.
Now ask yourself if there was anything about you that when a person in the first group saw you made them stop and take notice? Any reason for the second group to take notice? By the time you get to the third group there is generally the fact that you work together that at least causes them to take notice but was there anything significant about your crossing that day? With the last group you will probably leave a more lasting impression but was it an impression of you or YHVH with you (emmanuel)? Did they see, meet and greet you or did they spend time with The SPIRIT of YHVH within you? Who was it that was "alive" within you during that days encounter?
1 Thes 5:19. You must habitually not ever quench the Spirit,
If during this day, which I have just been addressing, all that others saw was YHVH with you then what possibly can you be judged by others for?
1 Pet 4:15. For none of you must suffer as a murderer or a thief or evildoer or as a spy: 16. but if as a Christian, he must not be ashamed, but he must glorify God in this name.
Did they see you as a "murderer, thief, evildoer or maybe as a spy" or did you only show them the glory of YHVH within you? Were you a CHRISTian; were you like The CHRIST?
Rom 8:29. Because whom He knew beforehand, He appointed ahead of time, because they have the same form of the likeness of His Son, for He was Firstborn among many brothers: (Mt 12:50, 13:55, Mk 6:3, et. al.)
Could it be said of you that you are "like" Y'SHUA your Firstborn Brother?
What did Y'SHUA do?
Jn 5:19. Therefore Jesus was answering and was saying to them, “Most assuredly I say to you, the Son is not able to do anything by Himself except what He would see the Father doing: for whatever that One would do, then the Son likewise does these things. KJV
...and...
Jn 5:30. “I am not able to do anything by Myself: I judge just as I hear, and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My will but the will of the One Who sent Me.” KJV
If you think yourself to be "CHRIST-like" or a.k.a. "a CHRISTian", then can you do anything more or anything less than He did?
Face the music, "You may be the only Bible some people every read!"
Lk 9:23. And He was saying to everyone, “If someone wants to come after Me, he must now deny himself and he must take his cross at once, and day by day he must consistently follow Me.
Are the words of Y'SHUA sufficient or need I say more?
1 Pet 4:17. Because the time to begin the judgment of the house of God is at hand: and if with us first, what is the end of those who are disobedient to the Good News of God?
There is a point; a time of judgment coming for everyone. A time when saint and sinner will each be judged! A time when the "angel of death" will hover awaiting his assignment.
Ex 12:3 Speak to all the assembly of Isra'el and say, 'On the tenth day of this month, each man is to take a lamb or kid for his family, one per household - 4 except that if the household is too small for a whole lamb or kid, then he and his next-door neighbor should share one, dividing it in proportion to the number of people eating it. 5 Your animal must be without defect, a male in its first year, and you may choose it from either the sheep or the goats. 6 "'You are to keep it until the fourteenth day of the month, and then the entire assembly of the community of Isra'el will slaughter it at dusk. 7 They are to take some of the blood and smear it on the two sides and top of the door-frame at the entrance of the house in which they eat it. 8 That night, they are to eat the meat, roasted in the fire; they are to eat it with matzah and maror. 9 Don't eat it raw or boiled, but roasted in the fire, with its head, the lower parts of its legs and its inner organs. 10 Let nothing of it remain till morning; if any of it does remain, burn it up completely. 11 "'Here is how you are to eat it: with your belt fastened, your shoes on your feet and your staff in your hand; and you are to eat it hurriedly. It is ADONAI's Pesach [Passover]. 12 For that night, I will pass through the land of Egypt and kill all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both men and animals; and I will execute judgment against all the gods of Egypt; I am ADONAI. 13 The blood will serve you as a sign marking the houses where you are; when I see the blood, I will pass over [Pesach] you - when I strike the land of Egypt, the death blow will not strike you.
Judgment "IS" coming but what you must ask yourself each day; consistently is, are you protected; are you covered; have you applied the blood of The Pesach Lamb to the doorpost of your house? You are the dwelling place; the mansion; the house of YHVH if you have prepared a place for HIM. If you have cleansed your place of all of the leaven of the world and of your “self” then HE has a virgin womb in which to place and grow HIS Child within. If HE has a place within you then this place must also be guarded in order to keep the world from entering and fouling the work which HE has started. If HE has a place within you then the blood of The Pesach Lamb must be applied to the doorposts if those within are to be saved from death.
ALL of those within are considered by YHVH to be Israel even if they were foreigners. It is not about where they came from; it is not about their past but only if the blood is applied to the doorpost of the house in which they are residing. All that YHVH is looking for is "THE Blood of THE Lamb"!
Rom 11:13. But I am speaking to you heathens: then as long as I am indeed an apostle for heathens, I honor my ministry, 14. if somehow I could provoke my flesh to jealousy and I could rescue some of them. 15. For if their rejection of Him means reconciliation of the world, what is their acceptance by God if not life out of death? 16. And if the first fruits is holy, the whole batch is also: and if the root is holy, the branches are also.
11:17. But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, since you are a wild olive, were yourself grafted into them, then you would be a participant for yourself of the richness of the root of the olive tree. 18. Stop boasting of the branches: but, if you do boast, you do not support the root, but the root supports you. 19. Therefore you will say, “Branches were broken off so that I could be grafted in.” 20. Just so: they were broken off by unbelief, but you have stood by faith. Do not be proud, but you must continually fear for yourself: 21. for if God did not spare the natural branches, neither will He in any way spare you. 22. You must now see the goodness and severity of God: on the one hand severity upon those who fell, but on the other hand goodness of God upon you, if you would remain in the goodness, otherwise you would be cut off. 23. And even these, if they would not remain in unbelief, they will be grafted in: for God is able to graft them in again. 24. For if you were cut off from the naturally wild olive tree and contrary to nature you were grafted into the cultivated olive tree, how much more will these natural branches be grafted into their own cultivated olive tree.
11:25. For I do not want you to be ignorant, brothers, of this mystery, lest you become conceited, because dulled perception in part has come upon Israel until the fullness of the heathens would come in (Lk 21:24) 26. and in this way all Israel will be saved, just as it has been written,
“The One Who rescues will come out of Zion,
He will banish ungodliness from Jacob.
27. and this is the covenant for them with Me,
when I would take away their sins.” (Is 59:20,21)
28. On the one hand regarding the gospel they are enemies on account of you, but on the other hand regarding the election they are beloved because of the Fathers: 29. for the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. 30. For just as you yourselves were once disobedient to God, but now you have been shown mercy by their disobedience, 31. then in this way now they have become disobedient, so that also they could now receive mercy themselves because of the mercy shown to you. 32. For God will completely shut up together all those who are in disobedience, so that He could be merciful with them all.
Who was Israel before they were chosen by YHVH to be HIS people?
NOBODY!
They were the least of all people!
HE set them apart!
HE chose them!
Who were you or who are you that YHVH should desire to choose you to be HIS Child?
NOBODY!
Before HIM you are the least of all people and yet HE desires to save you from destruction if you will allow HIM to do so.
HE has provided The Pesach Lamb in the person of Y'SHUA and in the form of The CHRIST for you, if you will accept Him!
1 Pet 4;17.
Ever since the day Y'SHUA was resurrected "the time to begin the judgment of the house of God is at hand"; it has begun and all who have died before that day and since are to be judged before YHVH as to whether they have accepted and applied the blood of The Pesach Lamb which YHVH provided to the doorposts of their house or not. As HE passes over all HE is looking for is the blood of The Lamb. As HE passes over those protected by the blood will be "saved" but those who are not within HIS provision will be lost forever.
Lk 9:23. And He was saying to everyone, “If someone wants to come after Me, he must now deny himself and he must take his cross at once, and day by day he must consistently follow Me. 24. For whoever would want to save his life will lose it: but whoever would lose his life because of Me will save it. 25. For what does a man benefit if he has gained the whole world, but then lost or forfeited himself? 26. For whoever would be ashamed of Me and My messages, the Son of Man will be ashamed of this one when He would come in the glory of Himself and the Father and the holy angels.
If you find yourself "ashamed" that Y'SHUA died upon a tree; a.k.a. the cross then what blood of what lamb is protecting you?
If you have accepted what YHVH has provided through Y'SHUA as The CHRIST then what concerns have you?
Deut 6:4 "Sh'ma, Yisra'el! ADONAI Eloheinu, ADONAI echad [Hear, Isra'el! ADONAI our God, ADONAI is one]; 5 and you are to love ADONAI your God with all your heart, all your being and all your resources. 6 These words, which I am ordering you today, are to be on your heart; 7 and you are to teach them carefully to your children. You are to talk about them when you sit at home, when you are traveling on the road, when you lie down and when you get up. 8 Tie them on your hand as a sign, put them at the front of a headband around your forehead, 9 and write them on the door-frames of your house and on your gates. 10 "When ADONAI your God has brought you into the land he swore to your ancestors Avraham, Yitz'chak and Ya'akov that he would give you - cities great and prosperous, which you didn't build; 11 houses full of all sorts of good things, which you didn't fill; water cisterns dug out, which you didn't dig; vineyards and olive trees, which you didn't plant - and you have eaten your fill; 12 then be careful not to forget ADONAI, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, where you lived as slaves. 13 You are to fear ADONAI your God, serve him and swear by his name. 14 You are not to follow other gods, chosen from the gods of the peoples around you; 15 because ADONAI, your God, who is here with you, is a jealous God. If you do, the anger of ADONAI your God will flare up against you and he will destroy you from the face of the earth. 16 Do not put ADONAI your God to the test, as you tested him at Massah [testing]. 17 Observe diligently the mitzvot of ADONAI your God, and his instructions and laws which he has given you. 18 You are to do what is right and good in the sight of ADONAI, so that things will go well with you, and you will enter and possess the good land ADONAI swore to your ancestors,
When you are judged all YHVH will be looking for is the blood of The Lamb!
Did Adam do that which YHVH had instructed him to do? That is all that mattered!
Did Israel apply the blood of the lamb to the doorposts of their houses when in Egypt? That is all that mattered!
Has Israel today applied the blood of The Lamb which YHVH has provided to the doorposts of their house today? That is all that matters!
1 Pet 4:18. And “If the righteous is scarcely saved,
how will the godless and sinner appear?” (Pr 11:31)
19. So also those who suffer according to the will of God must entrust their lives to the faithful Creator while doing good.
If you REALLY believe; if you REALLY trust YHVH then what have you to fear?
If you REALLY trust and believe YHVH then you will have done as HE has instructed you to do which is to apply the blood of HIS Lamb to the doorposts of your house.
Have you?
This day or was it only done in the past?
If YHVH were to pass over your house today would HE see the blood of HIS eternal Pesach Lamb on the doorposts?
Would HE?
