Vera_Stone wroteTherefore who is Jesus Christ dying on the Cross?
For some reason the object of sending Jesus to earth is going over your head! God sent Jesus here for a spiritual dieing world. The old ways of blood sacrifice by lamb to forgive someones sins was ended by Jesus dieing on the cross. He was the ultimate sacrifice from then on "till the end of time. Why did God send Jesus? Because there were so many people sinning in this world uncontrollably and sarificing so many lambs. "God Said thats it" Im putting a end to this. Now anyone who has faith in Christ of why he died now can be saved without shedding any more blood!
John 19:30
When he had received the drink, Jesus said, "It is finished." With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. Meaning the old ways of blood sacrifice is over and his mission on earth is over.
Matthew 27:51
At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook and the rocks split. Meaning the old ways are over. The curtain of the tabernacle tore in half ending any use for it any more. Now anyone can come to Christ to be forgaven! |

Two kinds of "flesh and blood"
I am thinking of the following verses whether "flesh and blood" have anything to do with the topic:
With “flesh and blood” Jesus Christ resides in the believer:
• Joh 6:56 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, DWELLETH IN ME, AND I IN HIM.
The believer, with “flesh and blood,” is made the TEMPLE of God. Simon Peter, being an apostle, must be a TEMPLE of God and the Spirit of God dwelleth in him:
• 1 Cor 3:16 Know ye not that YE ARE THE TEMPLE OF GOD, and that the SPIRIT OF GOD DWELLETH IN YOU?
Simon Peter recognized JESUS by the “revelation of the Father” and NOT BY MEANS of his “flesh and blood” (human competence):
• Mat 16:15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
• Mat 16:16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the CHRIST, the SON of the living God.
• Mat 16:17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
It was “by divine revelation” that Simon Peter truly recognized Jesus, and NOT BY MEANS of his “flesh and blood” and it was then he became the TEMPLE or “church” of God:
• Mat 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I WILL BUILD MY CHURCH (temple); and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

In my zealousness to find hints on our Lord’s revelation of the real meaning of, “Eat my flesh, and drink my blood,” in surfing the Internet, I came across an article that perhaps most likely elucidates the real message.
http://www.purechristianity.org/index.php/news/Eat_My_Flesh%2C_Drink_My_Blood
It is worth reading. No wonder the great multitudes that followed our Lord left Him after hearing it because, “This is an hard saying; who can hear it?”! |
